There is no more demonized and slandered political union in the history of Russia than the BLACK HUNDRED, which acted under the slogan “Russia for the Russians.” The Black Hundreds were accused of “anti-Semitism” - although they considered the main enemy of the people not the Jews, but the bureaucracy. They were denounced as “pogromists” - however, the Black Hundred organizations had nothing to do with these crimes, since they arose after a wave of pogroms, in which, by the way, more Russians died than Jews. The Black Hundreds are called “fascists,” but their ranks included people of various nationalities, there was even a “Muslim Union of the Russian People from the Kazan Tatars.” They are trying to portray the Black Hundred as a bunch of ignorant rabble, but among the 12 members of the Main Council of the Union of the Russian People there were five professors and one academician, and their ideas were openly sympathized with by the great chemist Mendeleev, the philosopher Rozanov, the artists Vasnetsov and Nesterov... Based not on propaganda myths, but based on archival documents, this book restores the truth, covering the history of the banned organization objectively and impartially, without idealizing the Black Hundreds, but also without presenting them as fiends of hell.
