The era of the late 1990s - early 2000s, which has not yet been properly comprehended in modern Russian literature, becomes the main space and hero of the story. First love experiences, teenage fears, trips on night trains... The reality in which all this happened no longer exists, just as the recipient friend is no longer alive, but the narrator stubbornly resurrects them in his memory in order to answer his own question: where do these memories lead? – to heaven or hell?
