The basic principles of phenomenological (equilibrium and nonequilibrium) and statistical thermodynamics and their application to calculations of chemical reactions and accompanying physical processes are considered in a brief and accessible form. Much attention is paid to problems that are not sufficiently covered in the literature: standardization and dimensions of thermodynamic quantities, essential details of the derivations of fundamental equations and their application in non-ideal systems.

Written in accordance with the State educational standard in the areas of “Chemistry”, “Chemical technology” and biotechnology", intended for students, undergraduates, graduate students, as well as researchers and teachers for independent work on the course.

Approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation as a teaching aid for university students studying in the field of "Chemical Technology" and biotechnology" and chemical and technological areas of training of certified specialists.
