This textbook contains basic information on military field surgery and is fully consistent with the training programs for students in higher medical educational institutions and the training program for reserve medical service officers. Separate chapters outline the issues of organizing the provision of surgical care to the wounded at the stages of medical evacuation, characterize modern combat trauma, provide scientifically based information about acute blood loss and traumatic shock in the wounded, long-term compartment syndrome, combined lesions, thermal combat trauma, infectious complications of wounds, anesthesiological and resuscitation care for the wounded. In particular sections, taking into account the experience of local wars of recent decades, the principles of diagnosis and treatment of gunshot and mine-explosive wounds of various locations are described.
