The treatise “Clear as the sun, a message to the general public about the true essence of modern philosophy” (1801) is aimed at a variety of readers. The popular style of writing, in which Fichte uses techniques that were not typical for philosophical works of that time, such as dialogue with an imaginary reader, does not in the least detract from its value as a philosophical work. Wanting to be extremely clear, Fichte does not at all reduce the degree of philosophical thought, not so much adapting to a wide audience as cultivating in his readers a taste for attentive reading. The publication is supplemented by an introductory article by the leading editor of INION RAS Andrei Gasilin. The publishing layout of the book is preserved in PDF A4 format.
