The collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, one of the largest fine art museums in the United States, is curated by eight departments: American Art, East Asian Art, Modern and Contemporary Art, European Decorative Arts, Sculpture, Costume and Textiles, Indian and Himalayan Art, Graphics ( drawing and engraving) and photography. This is a huge complex; in its more than 200 galleries, in addition to the permanent exhibition, numerous specialized exhibitions are held annually.
