This book is dedicated to the events of 1917, which unfolded in the carriage of a former imperial train. All the key characters of the Russian revolution pass through this carriage in acute dramatic collisions: Nicholas II, generals Alekseev, Brusilov, Kornilov, Dukhonin, ministers Guchkov and Kerensky, terrorist Savinkov, commissars Krylenko and Trotsky. Chapters of documentary prose are combined with dramatic fragments, the genre of historical investigation is combined with stage action. The book uses a large number of documentary sources: transcripts, telephone messages, letters, newspaper materials and memoirs.
