Pushkin wrote that “the spirit of our literature partly depends on the state of the writers.” This, of course, also applies to the work of the poet himself, which largely depended on his financial situation. The book includes all the main works that examined the economic and financial problems in Pushkin’s life, primarily the studies of S. Ya. Gessen and P. E. Shchegolev. In the economic life of Pushkin, five roles can be distinguished: official, writer and book publisher, card player, landowner, city dweller-family man. It is on this principle that the materials published in the book are grouped. The book also includes the works of modern scientists - “A.S. Pushkin: income and debts” (A.A.
