Most people prefer not to remember that words can kill. After all, it’s just a word, they think, an offensive word, nothing more. The main character Talya thought so too, rashly shouting to her own mother that she didn’t need her and that she had not loved her for a long time. These are just words, but for some reason the tears flow like hail, and my heart aches, as if something irreparable had happened. Mom left home. Although perhaps all is not lost. There is a place. A place that not everyone can find. A place where Talya must go herself. A repository of terrible words. There she will understand the meaning of the words that are spoken and will meet Pablo, who, like her, is also looking for a solution to the problem. It is there, in a mystical repository, among the libraries of bad words, that Talya and Pablo will learn not to cause pain, but to take care of their words, to value them and say only what they really want to say. “The Vault of Terrible Words” was written by the famous Spanish writer Elia Barceló, twice winner of the Edebe Award for Best Book for Children.
