Our whole life is riddled with conflicts. It is customary to avoid them, but George Kohlrieser, a management psychologist, consultant and former negotiator, believes that conflict cannot be turned away. Only by going through it can you resolve difficult situations that arise in business and private life.
In Kohlrieser’s terminology, “being hostage” means feeling trapped, feeling powerless and helpless. And in this case, you can successfully use proven methods used in working with hostage takers.
To resolve a conflict, you should not hide the problem - it must be identified and carefully studied. You should never think like a hostage and accept the fate of a victim. It is necessary to take advantage of the enormous opportunities inherent in dialogue and cooperate based on the principle of reciprocity.
The book was previously published under the title “Do not become a hostage.”
