In contrast to the noble-dynastic foreign policy and the autocracy of absolute monarchs, the victorious bourgeoisie put forward the principle of the supremacy of the nation. The bourgeoisie identified itself with the nation. Therefore, in her understanding, the supremacy of the nation had a limited meaning of bourgeois domination. For the first time, the principle of the supremacy of the nation was proclaimed in the field of foreign policy in the United States during the struggle for independence (1775-1782). This principle was further developed during the French bourgeois revolution of the late 18th century.
