A sociopath and conspiracy theorist survives in a world of a not entirely bright future, which, although technologically advanced, is mired in madness among space civilizations. Here they worship the Dark Gods according to the precepts of the Reverend Howard Lovecraft, recognize cannibalism as cultural characteristics and slow down the development of technology in order to combat unemployment, and special agents of the Federation, bearing the title of Defenders of the Galaxy, have almost absolute power. After drastic changes in life, the hero, in the company of a beautiful raider from the people of space cannibals, must unravel the mystery of the Ancients, who threaten the very existence of humanity. Each step towards the goal reveals the truth about the true nature of people, and at the same time the unsightly secrets of history, gradually leading to the line of madness. Will the hero be able to stay on the edge?
