The book is devoted to the study of the “Saga of Ingvar the Traveler,” created by an Icelandic cleric during the era of the Crusades. The publication includes the text of the monument in the original, its translation into Russian and a historical and philological commentary. The introductory article contains a description of the manuscript tradition, oral and written sources of the work, and an analysis of its conceptual and artistic features. The saga reinterprets and reworks the plot, the historical authenticity of which is confirmed by other historical sources, including runic inscriptions on stones from Central Sweden published here.
