Peter Kristen Asbjørnsen is a famous Norwegian writer and scientist. In addition, he was a keen collector: he collected everything from antique books and children's toys to folk tales and legends. Traveling around Norway, P. K. Asbjørnsen wrote down local legends and then published a book of Norwegian folk tales. The collection includes four fairy tales by P. K. Asbjörnsen - “How two boys met trolls in Hedal Forest”, “Peer Gynt”, “Castle Soria-Moria” and “The Trickster” in the classic retelling by A. Lyubarskaya. They will tell about the harsh Norwegian region and dense forests that are teeming with evil trolls, about the courage and resourcefulness of brave heroes challenging terrible monsters, about beautiful princesses and stupid rulers who can easily be fooled. For middle school age.
