Folklore version of Alexander Korenev’s poem “Blizzard. Night...” E. Yevtushenko published in Ogonyok as “poems by an unknown poet,” calling the author a genius and agreeing with M. Lukonin’s opinion that this is the best poem about the war.A. Korenev (1921 -1989) - author of more than 20 poetry books. However, the poet could not publish his main poems during his lifetime; they were not tailored to the standards of socialist realism. In the preface to “The Chosen” (1979) by the poet E. Vinokurov wrote: “One thing is certain - these are real poems. There is too much real pain, experience, everything - both bitter and joyful. There are not many poets today whose work would be as truly original as Korenev’s work.” A significant part of the works included in the collection are being published for the first time.
