When Noa discovers a boxcar containing dozens of Jewish babies heading to a concentration camp, she decides to save one of the babies and escape with him. She finds refuge in a German circus. To survive, she will have to join a circus troupe, battling the hostility of trapeze artist Astrid. But very soon the mistrust between Astrid and Noah develops into a strong friendship, which will become their only weapon against the iron machine of Nazi Germany.
