The action takes place in 2020 after the civil war, which claimed the lives of most of the Russian population. Large cities have disappeared from the face of the earth, the economy has been destroyed to the ground, life glimmers only in villages and hamlets. The country is plunged into darkness, and, as of old, all sorts of evil spirits are breeding in its corners. Beauty Oksana likes the blacksmith Nikola, who recently came to live in their village, and she decides to marry him to herself. The devil, who himself dreams of seducing a girl, intends to prevent her at all costs. He persuades Oksana's friend Larisa to seduce Nikola for a fee and make this fact public, hoping that Oksana will immediately turn away from the blacksmith.
