The story was written in the mid-nineties of the last century, but to this day has not lost its relevance. Stories about small-town bandits can be heard in almost every village, town or small town. They are often funny, sometimes tragic, but always full of ingenuity and good nature. This story was overheard by the author in one of the suburbs of Minsk, and then, with a slight distortion, translated onto paper. It was followed by others no less funny: “Walking Basement”, “Head in Sauce”, “Goat Leg”, “Dung Plane”, “One Hundred Grams from Reagan”. We can say that the story “Autumn Parasite” opens a series of tales about a kind of “shot sparrow,” the Belarusian peasant Adam Soboyka.
