The published work of the famous representative of the Christian Antiochian school of the 5th century, theologian, exegete and church historian Blessed Theodoret, Bishop of Cyrus (393–466), “Ten Words on Providence” is of an apologetic nature. The blessed father substantiates and defends the church teaching that God not only created this world, but also governs it, takes care of it for the good and salvation of man. He bases his arguments on the Divine Revelation of the Holy Scriptures, as well as on consideration of the structure of the world: celestial bodies and earthly nature, man and his place in the universe, society. The teaching about the Providence of God Blessed. Theodoret closely links with the Economy of Salvation and the Incarnation.
