Half a million years have already passed since the end of the Second Great Assa, and peace and tranquility reign inside the Frontier. The warrior caste practically sits idle, only the distant Border Worlds remain the subject of constant concern for the defenders of the Race. Neutral Territories cannot be called Calm: there is always someone robbing someone, conquering someone or surviving from their homes. The scale of this hectic activity varies from small pirate raids to full-scale wars, but no one in their right mind would dare to openly attack the Shining Ones. However, this does not mean that the enemy has forgotten about their existence or has come to terms with it. Numerous Dark Ones and servants of the ancient enemy weave a web of intrigue and deception around the Frontier in the hope of trapping an unsuspecting victim in their net. And when a spy is caught in the Yarilo star system, and a scientific expedition disappears without a trace in a neighboring star system, the military caste reacts immediately.
