The action of the novel "O-O" takes place in the Complex - a huge unfinished building, which the current reality inherited from the past - full of illusory hopes for peace and prosperity. It was then that, in the desert between Jerusalem and Ramallah, construction began on this concrete monster, envisioned as the center of a large industrial area, an open economic zone, the heart of the New Middle East. Then came the war, hopes died, but the building remained. It remains like a mirage in the desert, like a monument to virtual reality, like a ghost of something unfulfilled. Perhaps this is why its current inhabitants are so ghostly... The novel "O-O" was included in the long list of the "Russian Prize - 2012".
