A lot has been written about the 90s in Russia, but at the same time voices are constantly heard that they are not truly shown in literature - fiction - and are not comprehended; that are presented in Russian prose one-sidedly and monotonously. But, as the history of our literature shows, it is not evening yet. And Sergei Novikov’s novel “Not here and not now” confirms this. The novel is artistically strong, reliable and, in my opinion, valuable, as a document of that era that we have not yet overcome.
