Gregory McDonald (February 15, 1937 – September 7, 2008) was an American journalist and writer. He became famous for a series of novels about journalist Irwin Maurice Fletcher, nicknamed "Fletch". In the subsequent film adaptation, he was played by Chevy Chase. The book series about Fletch of 9 books spawned a subsequent series of books about “Flynn”, as well as about Fletch’s son. The book includes works from four cycles: “Fletch”, “Son of Fletch”, “Flynn” and “Skylar”.
