The main character of “Secret Notes”, A.S. Pushkin appears from an unusual perspective - in a variety of intimate relationships, in difficult reflections on life, the nature of sin, love and creativity, the complexity of the Russian poet’s life path, leading him to a tragic end. “Secret Notes” caused and continues to cause a flurry of the most controversial assessments; many Pushkin scholars consider them a talented hoax. But all this only fuels interest in them. The book was published in twenty-four countries and is deservedly considered one of the most scandalous examples of Russian erotica. This publication marks the twenty-year anniversary of the first publication of Secret Notes in 1986.
