The novel by the famous writer-historian Sergei Mosiyash tells the story of an associate of Peter I, a participant in the Crimean and Azov campaigns and the Northern War, Count Boris Petrovich Sheremetev (1652–1719). One of the most famous “chicks of Petrov’s nest,” Boris Sheremetev was the first of the Russian military leaders defeated the Swedish troops of Charles XII in 1701, for which he was awarded the rank of field marshal and the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called.
