The manual contains orders from various classes to the States General in 1789, documents reflecting the socio-political transformations carried out during the revolution, the process of formation of the bourgeois state and the policies of revolutionaries in the field of culture: legislative and administrative acts, speeches of prominent figures of the revolution and excerpts from them writings, popular petitions and minutes of meetings of democratic organizations. A significant part of the documents, including those from French archives, have been translated into Russian for the first time.
