The story tells about the amazing discovery in a burning building of an ancient manuscript of an Orthodox minister, in which the work of a priest in Russia for the entire 19th century is summarized in the first person. The entire path of a hereditary priest is described quite truthfully and in detail: studying at the seminary, then the difficult step-by-step passage through everything authority to the cherished position of archpriest. The monstrous corruption that overwhelmed the church hierarchy in the nineteenth century corroded and deformed the true faith in divine justice, gave rise to nihilism, irresponsibility, service not to the true God, but to Mammon, Baal-Zebul. This story with the primary title “Prologue” , most accurately describes all the birthmarks of today's bureaucratic devouring of their country, the destruction of faith in the current leadership, their loss of authority and respect of citizens, that is, the prologue to our new social system. Although about two hundred years have passed since then, these events are still look sharply modern.
