Kojiro Serizawa (1897–1993) is a major Japanese writer whose work intertwined the cultural traditions of East and West. His literary heritage is extremely diverse: stories, novels, essays, philosophical reflections on the world order and faith. President of the Japanese PEN Club, he actively participated in the activities of the Nobel Committee. The works of Kojiro Serizawa have been translated into many languages of the world and have received well-deserved recognition both in the East and in the West. His work is a grandiose panorama of the 20th century in the perception of a keenly sensitive, deeply emotional person, who, by the will of fate, became an eyewitness to the great achievements and terrible upheavals of his contemporary world . In Japanese poetics there is a term "after-feeling". The deep resonance generated by the magnificent prose of Kojiro Serizawa does not immediately subside. Published in Russian for the first time. Compiled by Fumiko Serizawa
