Eleven-year-old Silas is an ordinary boy living on an island in the Ocean, in a place called Coral Valley. The long-awaited summer promises to be filled with bicycle travel, board games with friends, a fireworks festival, golf cart riding, fishing, juicy persimmons, crispy shrimp and feelings of first love. But a mysterious Beast that lives in the Goat Swamps interferes with the peaceful life of the Valley. And the ghostly Moon Lady appears on the streets at night.
