The publication of I. Vinokurov’s monograph “Horror” resumes the tradition of publishing books about poltergeists - one of the darkest and most mysterious phenomena that humanity has ever encountered. This book could also be called: “Seriously about evil spirits.” Remembering seriously - in our “enlightened” age! - such characters of folk demonology as kikimora, brownie, mokrukha, noisy spirit (poltergeist) and other evil spirits, the author involuntarily experiences a certain embarrassment. He is afraid of his reader, who has the right to ask: is he, the author, in his right mind? And if, God forbid, in his own, then where is the reason that pushed the author to such a dangerous feat for his reputation?
