Juan José Millas (1946, Valencia) is a Spanish writer and journalist, winner of the Sesamo, Nadal, Primavera awards, as well as the National Prize for Prose "Planet" (2007). Millas is known as the creator of a number of small but extremely powerful texts that question the line between reality and fiction. As the writer himself says, “we live in times of a ‘culture of copy’, when reality is the result of an agreement.” And therefore, he believes, irony becomes one of the best ways to explore this reality. It is irony, subtle psychologism and insight, the ability to see the events of everyday life from completely unexpected, fantastic angles that give Milyas’s prose a unique originality and charm. “You Have a Different Name” is a novel that fully reflects the originality of Milyas’s style. It was this work that was awarded the prestigious literary prize of Spain - “Nadal”.
