The novel “Oklik” by the largest modern Israeli writer Ephraim (Efrem) Bauch was written in the early 80s. But the book has not lost its relevance in our time. Moreover, after time, the novel’s pain points became even more exposed. The masterfully written plot, recognizable characters and excellent Russian language immediately made the novel a bestseller in Israel. And copies that accidentally ended up in the then USSR went to samizdat. The novel went through several editions in Hebrew in the author's translation.
