Father Paul, the main character of this novel, serves in the church at a prison for life-sentenced prisoners. Despite the fact that in the cells, in this hellish gathering, murderers and rapists eke out a vile existence, the priest still finds bright sparks of goodness and love in their souls. And he is also firmly convinced that faith needs protection - first of all, from a gang of Satanists that keeps the entire city in fear. Father Pavel declares a holy war on them, and his will is strengthened by his boundless faith in the triumph of good and his fighting spirit, tempered over the years of service in a special forces unit.
