This publication represents the first and most complete collection of works by Venedikt Mart - the “damned poet”, friend of the Oberiuts and nerds, legend of the avant-garde of the Far East, morphine addict and opiate addict, who went from being a regular in Vladivostok cabarets and drug dens in Harbin to being shot in Kyiv in 1937. Although V. Mart is usually considered a futurist, his rare collections of the 1910s and early 1920s, combining poetry and visionary prose, defy any definition. Later, V. Mart acted as a prose writer, the author of bright and exotic stories of the Far East, China and Japan, as well as the co-authored adventurous novel “The Yellow Devil”. The vast majority of his works included in this collection have so far remained inaccessible to readers. The collection is provided with detailed comments and includes biographical materials, including the investigative file of V. March 1937, facsimile publications, reproductions of covers and illustrations of the first editions. “The Great City of Trepangs,” the first volume of the collection, includes all known lifetime collections of V. March 1910- x - early 1920s, as well as a handwritten collection of 1918 “Rus is my blood!” and poems from archives and periodicals.
