The police nicknamed the department, huddled in a dirty and damp basement in the outskirts of the police department, “the damned group.” The department's work is petty hooliganism and theft. And the employees of the department are failed opera losers led by Captain Krotov. Once upon a time, the authorities sent them here as if to a landfill, in the hope that the operatives themselves would someday leave the police. The “cursed group” is a real professional death for detectives. But one day in the city there was a high-profile kidnapping of the wife of an influential lawyer.
