A few words to the readers of “Reality Fiction” from Trudy Canavan: “Dear readers of “Reality Fiction”! The story brought to your attention was written more than ten years ago, when I was not yet a freelancer. At that time, I was upset that I could not devote much time to writing. Almost immediately after writing this story, I went freelance as a freelance illustrator and cartographer. I have more time for literary creativity. However, the story “Room for Improvement” (“Room of Time”) lived for another ten long years only on the disk of my computer. Only recently did we get around to bringing it to fruition and offering it to publishers. The story is a complex genre. Each thing, in my opinion, should rest and pass the test of time for the writer himself. Until the author is convinced that the story is ready to be published. Even after that, I wasn't entirely sure of the story. The fact that The Time Room won Australia's top Dietmar Award for Best Short Story of the Year came as a complete surprise to me.
