"Medea" is a tragedy by the great ancient Greek playwright Euripides (480 - 406 BC).*** The royal daughter Medea loves her husband Jason so much that for his sake she commits crimes against her own father and brother. But Jason betrays Medea and she begins to take cruel revenge. Other works of Euripides that have survived to this day are “Hippolytus”, “Heraclides”, “Hecuba”, “Andromache”, “The Suppliants”, “Alceste”, “The Death of Polyxena”, “Hercules”, “The Trojan Women”. The authority of Euripides in world literature is undeniable. His tragedies were imitated hundreds of years later by many famous playwrights. His immortal works have been translated into different languages of the world.
