In the second book of the series, Maksimov-Nefedov is present only in the conversations of his acquaintances. The main characters are the crew of the BA-10 armored car, where the driver is a friend of Nefedov. The entry of the Red Army into Eastern Poland under the slogan of protecting its entire population from the Nazis (it is explained to the indignant Germans that this is stated solely for the greater pacification of the Poles, and all agreements signed between the two countries remain in effect). The westward movement of units of the 36th Light Tank Brigade is not always peaceful, with descriptions of real events depicted in artistic form. A successful end to the campaign and an offer to the captured Poles that they cannot refuse.
