Автор майстерно піднімає питання про власну особистість через призму життя священика Дон Мануеля, який, готуючись до смерті, намагається знайти своє місце у світі, що його оточує. Ця історія про доброту, жертовність і прагнення врятувати свою особистість через любов до інших людей справляє величезне враження. Інші три історії, що доповнюють основну, також вражають своєю оригінальністю та складністю. Вони показують, як різні люди по-різному сприймають свою особистість і як це впливає на їхнє життя. Кожен персонаж має свої страхи та бажання, що робить їх дуже реальними та близькими. Ця книга змушує задуматися над важливими питаннями життя, і я б рекомендував її всім, хто цінує літературу, що викликає глибокі роздуми.
