"Little Dorrit" is one of the most remarkable and profound novels of the great English writer Charles Dickens (1812-1870). It was written in 1855-1857. The main characters of the novel - Little Dorrit and Arthur Clennam, representatives of the English people, are opposed to a hostile bourgeois society. In Dickens's novel, several simultaneous actions and several themes develop in parallel: the relationship between Little Dorrit and Clennam, the ruin and enrichment of the Dorrit family, the vile activities of Rigo. Dickens directs his main attack against the English bureaucratic system of government.
