The novel “The Blue Man,” despite the fantastic premise underlying its plot, is least of all fantastic in the usual sense of the word. It combines satirical sharpness with realistic authenticity.
The hero of the novel, Georgy Antoshin, a Soviet young man, a worker and a part-time student, in an amazing, inexplicable way ends up in Moscow in 1894, spends several months there, full of meetings , thoughts, experiences, and finally returns to Moscow again at the very end of the fifties of the twentieth century.
