What is the book offered to the reader about? What is its author sad about? What is he looking for? Someone once said that culture, or rather its most characteristic features, is the basis of the entire socio-political life of a society, is an image of the essence of its existence. So, the author of this book decided to test this formula, find out its truth and offer the result of its verification to the attention of his reader. Moreover, the book will focus exclusively on the literary side of any developed culture, in this case, on Russian literature. In addition, it should also be noted that in the book under consideration there is a kind of report on the degree of influence of some of the most noticeable examples of the latter on Russian life itself, on the responsibility of the best Russian writers for everything that has happened and is happening in all of our lives. In other words, the role of fiction is a role that is not fully realized by the Russian community, which means that this role is both saving and imperceptibly destroying it.
