The question of the origin of the Russian state and its culture, the question of the formation of Kievan Rus and the emergence of Novgorod Rus, the origins of the Slavic community, language and statehood - these are the main topics that for many years interested the Russian emigrant, biologist-entomologist Sergei Yakovlevich Paramonov (literary pseudonym Sergei Lesnoy). In his works (“The Tale of Igor’s Campaign”, “Where are you from, Rus'?”, “Vlesova’s Book”, “Revision of the Fundamentals of the History of the Slavs”, etc.), he argues, with the involvement of numerous sources, exposing the established myths of ancient Russian history. The publishing house brings to the attention of readers the first volume of S. Lesnoy’s most famous work, “The History of the Russians in an Unperverted Form,” published in 10 issues at the author’s own expense in 1953-1960. In this volume, S. Lesnoy explores the issues of the relationship between Ancient Rus' and its neighbors - Byzantium and Scandinavia, the history of the calling of the Varangians to Rus' and early Christianity in Russia. Why did the Novgorodians begin to be called “Rus”? Was Princess Olga a Slav? What Scandinavian names and titles can be found in Russian chronicles? Did Christianity exist in Rus' before Vladimir? When was the first Russian chronicle written? These are just some of the issues raised by the author.
