The situation in Russia is changing. Religious sentiments in society are intensifying, and religious leaders, shamelessly taking advantage of their proximity to the authorities, are trying to promote religious disciplines in schools under any pretext. We must not allow scientific facts to be replaced by religious myths and their rights equalized. Religion and science are two too different things to try to perceive them as equals, much less unite them under the guise of “scientific creationism.” It is no secret that in our time interest in “official science” has dropped to zero, but all sorts of religious doctrines have flourished. Trying to “refute” fundamental science, the authors of such teachings are mistaken or simply do not hesitate to resort to outright lies.
