Liao She's masterpiece of drama "The Tea House" in its three acts recreates - in the tiny space of a Beijing tea house - three turning points in the history of Chinese society. Recreates the fate of teahouse visitors through changes in the atmosphere reigning there, in the behavior of people, in the tone and even the vocabulary of their speeches. It would seem that a very Chinese and even purely Beijing play - of course, well performed - also impresses audiences in distant countries.
