Thomas Ward was apprenticed to the Witcher when he was only thirteen years old. This craft is not easy and dangerous, it takes many years to learn, and for some reason people shun those who protect them from the undead. But Tom's mother wanted her seventh son to become a witcher, and Tom, after thinking about it, agreed. Someone has to do this hard and dirty work. And so, a few months later, he and his mentor go to a distant city, in the dungeons of which lives one of the most powerful and evil creatures of Darkness - a demon named Likho. The witcher, Tom's teacher, is determined to destroy the demon, despite the long-standing curse that threatens him with death alone underground.
But fate decided otherwise, and the most difficult test falls to Tom...
