“The Well-Being of Christians” is the work of St. Nicodemus the Holy Mountain, one of the most famous Greek ascetic monks and writers of the 18th-19th centuries. The book consists of thirteen Words, presented in an accessible form. In them, the author reflects on how evil, passions and bad customs take root in everyday life, and how, by observing the laws of Christian morality, a person can cleanse himself, overcome the difficult path of self-improvement and get closer to God. Rev.'s own arguments. Nicodemus richly reinforces with quotes from the Bible and the holy fathers, wisely selected everyday examples from the lives of different nations. The book serves as a reliable guide in identifying vices and combating entrenched bad customs, teaching high morality and purity of life. Published more than two centuries ago, it has still not lost its relevance. “If you,” St. Nicodemus addresses us, “constantly study and read them (his Words), and also put them into practice, then in a short time you will acquire different morals—right, good, and truly Christian. And through such morals you will save yourself.” The book was published in Russian for the first time.
