This is an anti-fascist book. Perhaps the most anti-fascist of all that have appeared so far in Russia. Although many people who are accustomed to calling themselves anti-fascists, without waiting for the book to be published, have already branded it xenophobic and inciting ethnic hatred.
This is a brave book. Its author, special correspondent for the Izvestia newspaper Dmitry Sokolov-Mitrich, took on a dangerous and thankless mission - to illuminate the “dark side of xenophobia.” Instead of journalistic arguments and exclamation marks, there are only facts that speak for themselves. A dry chronicle of crimes committed by representatives of ethnic minorities against the ethnic majority of Russia.
This is a biased book, and the author does not hide it. There is only half the truth in it. Because everyone knows the other half. For many years in Russia, the myth of the infallibility of representatives of national minorities was cultivated, and the concepts of xenophobia and fascism were used only in relation to citizens of Russian nationality. After reading the book by Dmitry Sokolov-Mitrich, it is no longer possible to harbor such illusions.
This is an interesting book. It is written in the spartan but piercing language of one of the best reporters in Russia. There is nothing superfluous in it. There is nothing unimportant about her. A person who has not read this book can hardly claim that he fully understands what is happening.
Who is really inciting national hatred - read in the new book of Izvestia special correspondent Dmitry Sokolov-Mitrich.
