An adult whose entire life is devoted to a sports career, and a teenager for whom the question of the price of this career is not so clear-cut. A woman who has made many mistakes, and a girl who doubts that she has taken the right path. The book is structured like this: the reader sees the world of artistic gymnastics alternately through the eyes of a young athlete and through the eyes of an experienced coach. But the heroes live not only in the gym. The outside world, in all its complexity and ambiguity, also appears before the reader. No wonder this story was awarded the “Treasured Dream” award as “The best work about the modern life of children and adolescents, about their relationships with the world of adults”! Since its magazine publication in 2007, the story by St. Petersburg writer Tatyana Sergeeva has not become outdated at all, and even more so, it has taken on a life of its own: high school students dedicate essays to it, and adult readers still discuss it on social networks today. “Floor Exercises” is being published as a separate book for the first time.
