Dylan Thomas (1914–1953) is a Welshman who during his lifetime conquered first England and then the whole world with his work. The masterful finishing and unique sound of the verse made him one of the most notable poets of the twentieth century, causing controversy and introducing a new spirit into literature. He was called the most mysterious and inexplicable poet. A poet for intellectuals. All the greats of the second half of the twentieth century raved about his poems. “Portrait of the Artist as a Puppy” is the most significant work of his prose. This book can be called an autobiography, albeit conditionally. The stories included in it describe the “childhood, adolescence, youth” of an extraordinary personality, a premonition of a brilliant and fatal fate and the emergence of a creative gift.
